Meet Atlanta Plastic Surgeon, Frederick T. Work Jr., MD
Frederick T. Work, Jr., M.D. is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is an alumnus of Georgia Tech and Morehouse College and received his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in 1986. Dr. Work completed his internship at Letterman Army Medical Center located in San Francisco (1986-1987). From 1987 to 1989, he served in the United States Army as a general medical officer stationed in the Republic of Panama, Central America. Dr. Work completed his general surgery residency (1989-1993) at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and practiced as a general surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (1993-1995) in Germany until his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
He then returned to Atlanta where he completed two additional residencies at Emory University School of Medicine (1995-1998) in head and neck/microvascular surgery, as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Work was a plastic surgeon in private practice for over 10 years in Atlanta before receiving training in hair restoration. During the past six years, he has performed more than 2000 hair transplant procedures. He held academic appointments as assistant clinical professor of plastic surgery at Morehouse School of Medicine (1998-present) and Emory University School of Medicine (1998-1999). Dr. Work also served as the plastic surgery consultant and frequent contributor for WAGA FOX 5 TV (1999-2007).
He has been a past member/associate of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Georgia State Medical Association, the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Atlanta Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in California, North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia.
